Speech-Language Pathologist

Founder and Owner

I was born and raised here in Schulenburg. After graduating high school in 1997, I moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University.  I graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2006 with a bachelor of science in speech-language and hearing sciences, and in 2008 with a master of science in speech-language pathology.  I was very fortunate to have so many wonderful professors, clinical instructors and mentors while at Texas Tech.  Starting my career in Lubbock afforded me the opportunities to gain valuable experience as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of clinical settings.  I began working for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf where I provided speech and language therapy for children from ages three to eighteen years old.  I also gained experience in skilled nursing facilities, caring for adults with speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing/ feeding disorders.  I was very excited when I received an offer from Texas Tech University Health Science Center to be a clinical instructor in the speech-language pathology department.  It was very rewarding to mentor graduate students through their first experiences providing therapy.  I also worked at University Medical Center and the Lubbock Heart Hospital primarily providing acute care services to neonates, children and adults with feeding and swallowing disorders.  In May of 2011, my family and I moved to Schulenburg.  Happiness really was Lubbock Texas in my rearview mirror!  Upon my return to Schulenburg, I began providing speech therapy services in skilled nursing, outpatient and home health settings.  Also, because of a very special baby boy, I joined the Bluebonnet Trails early childhood intervention team.  I truly love what I do and the difference that I can help make in the lives of my patients and their families.  In order to truly reach out to those in the community that are in need, and go above and beyond to make a difference, I decided to start a private practice.  Beyond Therapy opened in 2012, and is still going strong.  We have a family of therapists who share a passion for helping others and supporting a healthy community.

Speech-Language Pathologist

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas but got out of the city as fast as I could.  My family and I live in Weimar, near Dubina.  My husband, Theo, and I have been married for 10 years and we have two sons, William and Patrick.

After graduating from Dobie High School in 1994, I attended Southwest Texas State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders.  I obtained my Speech Language Pathology Assistant license and began therapy in the public school setting.  I worked in public education for 15 years, most recently with Weimar ISD.  I also worked as a pediatric outpatient therapist for 2 years.  The time was finally right for graduate school, and in 2017 I earned a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Texas Woman’s University.  While at TWU, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key Honors Societies.

I have extensive experience with articulation and language disorders in school-age children as well as the use of assistive technology for individuals with complex communication needs.  I enjoy working with patients of all ages, but am most interested in learning more about swallowing disorders and neurogenic communication disorders.

I was also born and raised here in Schulenburg, Texas. I attended Schulenburg High School and graduated in 2014. I attended Texas A&M University prior to being accepted into the South University Physical Therapist Assistant Program in Round Rock. During my internships, I provided physical therapy services to both children and adults in a variety of settings - skilled nursing facilities, out patient clinics, and home health.  I graduated with an honor of summa cum laude from the PTA program in 2017.  I joined the team of therapists at Beyond Therapy, and absolutely love working as the Physical Therapist Assistant. The environment here supports growth of clinical knowledge and experience. I aspire to always have a positive influence on my patients that promotes healing and strength.

Brynna Hardt, COTA

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

I was born and raised in Hallettsville and graduated from Hallettsville High School in 2013. I began my college career at Blinn College in Bryan, tx with hopes of becoming a dental hygienist. However, after researching different career options, I came across occupational therapy and became amazed at how broad yet rewarding this field seemed. I shadowed an occupational therapist at a rehab hospital in Victoria, tx and I immediately fell in love. They coincidentally were in need of a rehab tech to assist the therapists and offered me the position. 2 years spent at that hospital grew my love for helping others as well as an abundance of knowledge and hands on experience with physical, Occupational, and speech therapy. I was accepted into the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi in 2017 and graduated in 2019. I believe that God has lead me to this rewarding field and I absolutely love getting to help others. Beyond therapy is full of wonderful people with hearts of gold and I love working alongside them!

I was born and raised in Schulenburg, Texas. After graduating high school in 2014 from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hallettsville, I attended Texas State University. As an undergraduate, I participated in research and became a published second author. Upon graduation, I was awarded the Student Achievement in Research Award,  the Communication Disorders Outstanding Senior Award, and was chosen one of top seven finalist for outstanding senior at Texas State University. It was during my undergraduate studies that I got my first taste of Beyond Therapy. During Summer 2016, I volunteered at their summer literacy camp. It was then that I truly fell in love with my career choice, and it led me back to Beyond Therapy summer after summer.

After graduating from Texas State University in 2018, I attended Baylor University to pursue my master’s degree. At Baylor, I loved that my faith was integrated into my academics and clinicals. There, I was able to gain hands on experience with a range of populations and disorders. In Fall 2019, I completed my final full-time internship at DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas. In December 2019, I graduated from Baylor University and promptly started working at Beyond Therapy. I look forward to many more years working with this great team, learning from each other and supporting our clients in the best way possible.

Angela Norman, BSW

Clinical Manager

I was born and raised here in Schulenburg. After graduating high school in 2001 from Schulenburg ISD, I attended Texas Tech University and graduated in 2010 with a degree in social work and a minor in human development and family studies. After graduating, I moved back home to Schulenburg where I have raised my three girls. I worked at a nursing home for a few years, and in 2016 I began working at Beyond Therapy (yes, with my sister) as the clinical manager. I do pretty much everything except treat patients…basically the boss but my sister would say otherwise. Working with my sister and her team of therapists has been challenging but rewarding, and I love working with them!
